Small Business Saturday Showcase - LEC Boutique & Dunbar T-Shirt Shop

LEC Boutique/Dunbar T-Shirt Shop

History

In November 2011 LEC Boutique first opened its doors to the public, welcoming all ages and sizes of people offering them some unique fashion clothing, handbags and accessories. From humble beginnings this business has grown, started by Natalie in 2009 as a home based business selling ex-chain store clothing on eBay. The Business was started with £500 and any profits were invested back into purchasing more stock. By mid 2010 this model had meant a Loft packed full with stock and the next step was getting a shop. With Dunbar at that time only having the ASDA as a ladies fashion choice it was felt there was a gap in the market. With Gavin (Father) on board they opened the high street shop and began to offer a different choice to the locals.

In December 2012 Steve (Husband) had the opportunity to change career path and decided to take over from Natalie who was now a new mum. By this point the high street had two more ladies fashion outlets and a new medium sized factory shop, so we needed to change direction. Using his experience of Graphic design and attending some specialised courses Steven and Gavin decided to begin offering T-Shirt printing. This meant small businesses, groups and charities could get customised work wear with no set up costs and a generous 20% discount means that it is cheaper than the majority of online t-shirt printers. Offering gifts from Mugs and badges to Teddy bears and tea towels, a wide range of clothing and work wear there isn’t much that can’t be personalised. No minimum order size means even a one off gift can be produced for you at a great low price.
