At The Bakery Dunbar, we want to put the heart back into the loaf and the community. Not content with making everyday baked goods and cakes (our pastry is made by hand daily and is used in our puff pastry tarts and sausage rolls), our staff are producing high quality craft breads and gorgeous French patisserie.
Using the best ingredients and traditional, time-tested recipes, our team are busy up to 18 hours a day to give our customers, fresh bread and cakes. Our sourdoughs are slow fermented using natural yeast; some are risen over longer timescales to give texture, add flavour and prolong shelf life naturally, as no chemicals are used in our breads.
We will work in partnership with a growers and mills to provide us with fine flours.
Our belief is in quality over quantity and have elected to keep our product base small, this is to enable and ensure consistency throughout.
The bakery will be adding to its repertoire every month, so keep coming in as there is bound to be something new to try.
