This letter is not designed to sell Christian Aid to you. I know that those to whom it is addressed are already familiar with the purposes of the appeal and will also be familiar with the publicity material which is already in your churches.
I hope that Dunbar’s response will be similar to that in previous years but, in view of the state of God’s world, I hope we can improve upon it. Last year over £3,000 was raised in Dunbar.
In the light of recent disasters, both natural and man made the need for aid is greater than ever.
Images of Hunger, Poverty and Desolation are on our TV screens as a daily occurrence.
The Dunbar appeal will be on the same lines as in previous years. This year the focus is on the need for fresh water in Bangladesh and to combat the harmful effects of sea water in the extensive delta area.
